I believe that health care costs are too high because of litigation. “Defensive medicine” costs us an enromous sum annually. We badly need tort reform; also, high because of the insurance companies. As distasteful as it may be to many, I believe that a national health insurance program would be the best option for the most people. The problem in our country is not that we lack technology, it is that no effort has been made (outside of Kaiser Permanente and a very few other places) to streamline its application and reduce duplication.
